Here’s a checklist that could help you before and during moving day.

Moving Company

  • Ask your community for moving company recommendations. Preferably senior living moving experts.
  • Get cost estimates
  • Understand the full scope of each moving company’s contract (inclusions and those with extra costs)
  • Read online reviews.
  • Schedule your moving date with them and make sure they are available.
  • Check your moving company’s license and insurance policies

Community Documents

  • All paperwork are signed and received
  • Call community and confirm everything is good to go
  • Sync your calendars with loved ones to know their day to day community activities.
  • Save contacts on your phone
  • Nursing and wellness staff
  • Maintenance

Healthcare

  • Make an appointment with your existing primary care physician.
  • Have a physical check up and an updated medical book - this should include a list of medications too.
  • Bring any paperwork that your community needs filled out and signed by a doctor.
